The IIDA North Florida Chapter Design Awards Gala serves as a platform to recognize and honor outstanding achievements in interior design. This year's gala was nothing short of amazing with a vibrant gathering of talented individuals, industry leaders, and passionate supporters under one roof.

PROJECT SUBMISSIONS

GENERAL INFORMATION


Project submissions and payments are due no later than Monday, March 11, 2024 at 5pm. The deadline will not be extended.

Projects must be completed after January 1, 2022.

Projects may have been executed anywhere in the United States or abroad.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA

  • Firm contact information including name, address, phone number, and email

  • Category

  • Project name and location

  • Completion date

  • Construction Type (new, renovation, tenant up-fit,

  • Square Footage

  • Project Statement (50 word maximum)

  • Challenge Statement (250 word maximum)

  • Solution Statement (250 word maximum)

  • Project Images (JPG or JPEG format w/ maximum size of 1MB)

  • Submit 5-7 color images total.

    • only (1) exterior image is permitted

    • Use numbers to name your image files (01, 02, 03, etc).

  • Floor Plan Uploads (1-3)

    • A maximum of (3) floorplans are allowed

    • Please use the following format for floor plans:” floorplan1, floorplan2, floorplan3”

    • Do not reference or include your design/architectural firm name or logo in the images.

    • No composite images allowed - only one photograph per image upload

JUDGING

A select jury of IIDA Members and allied professionals (licensed Interior Designers), outside the North Florida Chapter, representing a balance of design background and experience, will judge the entries and select winners based on established criteria for each Forum

SUBMISSION CATEGORIES

  • Commercial Workplace

    Specific to corporate office spaces that are a centralized location for employees to collaborate, train, and interact as a team. Financial Institutions;Professional Services;Legal Workplace;Technology and Marketing;Industrial Complexes;Corporate Headquarters;Satellite Offices; Public Utilities;Call Centers.

    Small: Less than 7,500 square feet

    Medium: 7,500- 20,000 square feet

    Large: Greater than 20,000 square feet

  • Healthcare

    Specific facilities that provide short and long term care dedicated to the health and welfare of the general public. 

    Small: Less than 7,500 square feet

    Medium: 7,500 - 20,000 square feet

    Large: 20,000 - 60,000 square feet

    X-Large: Greater than 60,000 square feet

  • Senior Living

    Specific to personal living spaces where multiple units are contained within one building or complex with shared common spaces dedicated to and licensed senior living communities. Assisted Living, Independent Living, Continuing Care and Memory Care facilities.

  • Education & Research

    Research Facilities; Development Facilities; Day Care Centers; Educational Facilities; Colleges; Universities; Higher Education; Elementary, Middle and High Schools; Libraries; Museums; Aquariums; etc.

  • Hospitality

    Specific to providing a service or entertainment venue for the purpose of (personal or business related) travel, rest and relaxation: Hotels; Resorts; Lodges; Cruise Ships; Theaters; Country Clubs; Athletic Clubs; Entertainment Clubs; Airline Clubs; Casinos; Theme Parks; Cineplexes; Spas; etc.

  • Institutional & Government

    Religious Institutions; Worship Centers; Convention Centers; Civic Centers; Arenas; Stadiums; Transportation Terminals; Airports; Government Agency Facilities; Embassies; Correctional Facilities; Judicial Facilities; Legislative Facilities; Fire, Police and Emergency Stations; etc

  • Historic Revitalization

    Specific to the innovation of protecting and enhancing architectural heritage. Historic Preservation, Building Lobby Repositioning, Industrial Design, etc.

  • Restaurants

    Specific to a place that serves food and drink to the public, including but not limited to Bars; Restaurants; Breweries; Bakeries; Public Food Halls; Coffee Shops; Food Markets.

  • Retail

    Shopping Centers; Malls; Food Courts; Mass Merchandisers; Department Stores; Specialty Stores & Boutiques; Food Retail Stores; Retail Branches & Banks; Convenience Stores; Home Improvement Stores; Product Showrooms; etc.

  • Unbuilt

    A project in-progress that has not yet been built.

  • Single Family Residential

    Specific to a dwelling for a person or household. Detached housing units; Townhouses; Condos; Mobile Homes

  • Multi-Family Residential

    Specific to new construction or renovation housing containing multiple separate residential units. Condominiums; Dormitories; Apartments; Lofts; Community Projects/ Community Shelters; Clubhouses and other Common Areas.

  • Product Placement (Vendor Specific)

    Specific to a project where vendor FF&E products were incorporated in a way that enhanced the built environment and supported the overall design concept.

  • Best Use of Materials (Vendor Specific)

    Specific to a project where vendor materials were incorporated in a way that enhanced the built environment and supported the overall design concept.

  • Prism Awards

    Branding Excellence

    A project that exemplifies impactful branding for a product or company throughout the design of the space. 

    Sustainability

    Specific to any building type designed with renewable and recyclable resources and materials, including but not limited to LEED and WELL certified buildings.

    DEI

    This award will be presented to the company who submits a project that exemplifies Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Every project will have the option to provide a summary of how their project incorporates DEI as applicable. 

  • Radiance Awards (Individual)

    Awards intended to recognize members of the design community who demonstrate a commitment to excellence to advocacy and the profession of interior design.
